Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School’s second-grade service club collected hundreds of non-perishable food items during their annual Thanksgiving food drive.
Leading up to the initiative, the club discussed the importance of assisting others and the big changes they can make even at such a young age.
“It made me feel really good about giving food to those who do not have as much,” said second-grader Abigail Culley. “I hope this drive helps others in the world have a warm meal this holiday,” added second-grader Caiden Palank.
The donations were sorted and boxed by the club before being donated to local families, churches and the Light House Mission.
