As an extension of their classroom studies, Rocky Point High School students had the chance to learn about the budding field of science when they participated in the Brookhaven Women in Science High School Career Day at Brookhaven National Laboratory this March.
During the event, the students were given an overview of BNL’s research, attended personal presentations featuring BNL women in science, toured the laboratory facilities and visited the laboratory’s Science Learning Center. The group also got to hear from two young female scientists, visit the relativistic heavy ion collider and the light synchrotron II.
