Eight students from Rocky Point High School recently participated in “A Day in the Life of the Carmans River” where they collected biological, chemical and physical data at two locations along the river. The students were: Jada Bramer, McKayla Chiello, Kyle Markland, Preston Nicholds, Jade Pinkenburg, Brittany Rochford, Scott Sabo, and Taylor Twomey-Liguori. They were accompanied by their teacher, Nancy Hunter, and worked with scientists from Brookhaven National Lab, and the Department of Environmental Conservation.
