As part of its ongoing season, Rocky Point School District’s Athletics for All team participated in a bowling event at AMF Sayville Lanes this January.
Teams representing various middle and high schools in Suffolk County attended the event. Rocky Point was represented by 10 high school and middle school students, along with their coaches Mark Brienza and Margaret Messinetti.
Athletics for All is a Section XI-sanctioned sports program designed to provide safe, nurturing and supportive athletic events for high school and middle school student-athletes of varying levels of athletic ability. Teams travel between participating school districts each month and compete in sporting events, such as basketball, softball, cross-county, bowling and track. They practice the skill necessary to compete in the particular spot featured on “sports day” during team practices and physical education classes.
