F.J. Carasiti Elementary School second-grade students in Jan Pilkington-Kaler and Cheryl Fusco’s class learned about the postal service industry and world locations in a fun, interactive way this spring.
As part of their unit on mail and maps, the class received letters, packages and postcards from around the world. The students used the information located on and within the packages as they explored the postal service, letter writing process, proper way to address envelopes and world geography. To visually represent their research, the class charted, tallied and graphed where the mail was from on a large display outside their classroom.
