Rocky Point High School’s SADD club is working to reduce the number of teen driving-related crashes and save lives through their participation in the “Teen Crashes GTG (Got to Go)” campaign. The school kicked off its participation in the campaign by creating slogans that promote safe teen driving, which were chalked onto the high school walkway. Students also participated in an assembly from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Patricia Brosco presented on the dangers of drunken driving and spoke about New York laws and the consequences drivers face for a single no-accident arrest up to a crash under the influence involving a death. In addition, the SADD club and their advisor, Serina Werthner, are working with the RPTA to bring this important student traffic safety awareness campaign to parents and the community through social media.
