Rocky Point High School’s varsity cheerleading squad captured third place at this year’s National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida.
Competing in the medium varsity Division II category, the highly talented team tumbled, danced and cheered their way to the top three teams in the nation in the toughest and largest division. This was Rocky Point’s 11th consecutive year competing in the national contest.
Under the direction of coaches Anna Spallina, Amanda Lang and Jenna Orlando, the squad practiced for this year’s contest several hours each day and on many weekends to perfect their dynamic routine. Earlier this season, they captured their 10th LICCA Long Island Championship and first and second place in the Power 4.
